Mikkeller is now a global brand, but it all started in Vesterbro.
During this 2½-hour BeerWalk, our beer guide will take you around Vesterbro, where you’ll learn about the neighborhood’s transformation from a poor working-class area to the trendy district it is today. This is a great introduction to Copenhagen too.
You’ll also hear about Mikkel Bjergsø’s rise from a homebrewer to the uncrowned king of craft beer.
This means you’ll get a mix of history, tall tales, and great beer on this tour, which is a combination of the best elements of a walking tour and a beer tasting, expertly delivered by our local guide. Good to know
- There is a maximum of 20 participants per tour, ensuring everyone has a great experience.
- The language of the tour is based on the participants. The tour will be conducted in English if international guests are present, otherwise in Danish. Questions can always be asked in Danish.
- Bathroom breaks are naturally included along the route.
- Dress according to the weather – the BeerWalk takes place outdoors.
- You are not allowed to bring your own alcohol on the tour.
- The BeerWalk is not suitable for those with mobility issues.
- If fewer than 7 participants sign up, BeerWalks reserves the right to cancel the tour.
- In the case of inappropriate behavior, the guide reserves the right to terminate the tour for the individual in question
- You must be at least 18 years old to participate.

Even in cold weather the tour was completely worthwhile. The tour may take longer the advertised, if able be flexible at the back end of the tour, else it's also fine to skip the extended session. Mikkeller tour had alot of great tasting beers in the more mild end, so few stouts and sours. Many great stories both about Mikkeller and Carlsberg, personal anecdotes, and inside on the city's development and history. A good way to get the unique history of a city, and get recommendations with a little buzz on.
